Hypothesis Testing

What is hypothesis testing?

- Hypothesis testing refers to the formal procedures used but experimenters or researchers to accept or reject statistical hypothesis

Since we are tasked to carry out  hypothesis testing this week,

Let's find out how to carry out hypothesis testing !

hypothesis testing task :

For this assignment, you will use the DOE experimental data that your practical team have collected both for FULL Factorial and FRACTIONAL Factorial.

DOE PRACTICAL TEAM MEMBERS :

1. AQILAH (Iron man) ----> ME!

2. IEAN (Thor)

3. JONATHAN (Captain America)

4. Q (Black Widow)

5. ALEX (Hulk)

A: arm length, B: start angle, C: stop angle

Data collected for FULL factorial design using CATAPULT A (full factorial)

Data collected for FULL factorial design using CATAPULT B (fractional factorial)

USING RUN #2 (for both factorial and full):

Parameters used --->  HIGH arm length (A: +), LOW start angle (B: -) and LOW stop angle (C: -)

CONCLUSIONS !

REFLECTION

This week, I have learnt a new skill!

I was introduced to the fundamentals of statistics and how hypothesis testing works. This being our first ever lesson that required calculations in CPDD, it was a little bit tougher for me to understand the lesson. But, moving further into what was being taught I was able to grasp and understand the concept better.

Completing the tutorial questions on blackboard did help me understand hypothesis analysis better but, this individual task has allowed me to gain more confidence in my own calculations since my groupmates and I are given different tasks to work on and I had no one to compare my answers to.

Moving forward, I would be able to perform hypothesis testing in my FYP to efficiently determine if my data is accurately achieved and amendments can be easily made from there. Hypothesis testing will be forever useful for me to apply throughout my education journey.
